Elise Klysa has an extensive career in communications, visual story telling and photo journalism. She won first prize in the 2021 Maine Photography Show (special category), and was the grand prize winner of Downeast Magazine’s Reader’s Choice contest in the lifestyle category. Her photos have been featured in Yankee Magazine, Portland Press Herald and Central Maine Papers. Her work was included in the traveling “Everyday Maine” exhibit, and at the L.C. Bates Museum, MaineMedia Gallery in Rockport, Danforth Gallery in Augusta, former PhoPa Gallery in Portland and Maine Lakes Resource Center in Belgrade. Elise's work is on permanent display in numerous Maine hospitals and corporate offices. She has a professional certificate in visual storytelling from MaineMedia College and Workshops in Rockport and served as a freelance photojournalist for Central Maine Newspapers and is also a photography instructor at University of Maine Senior College.
