Meet the Artist
Jean Savage
Fairfield, Maine
Celebrating All of Maine
As long as she can remember, Jean Savage has wanted to put her surroundings on paper. She started painting in her teens using oils and discovered acrylics in her twenties and was hooked, using acrylics as her medium of choice, on hard board. Jean studied painting at the University of Maine and Unity College and has taught at the Waterville Boys club and offered private lessons over the years. Her work has been shown in numerous venues and festivals in Maine. Some have asked Jean why she has done so few ocean views since she lives in Maine. Her response? "You do what you know. Central and northern Maine are beautiful and deserve to be celebrated."
