Meet the Artist
Kay Morris
West Gardiner, Maine
Playful Yet Precise
Kay Morris worked in oils and pastels for years but then turned to watercolors and never went back. She loves the fluidity of the watercolor medium. She studied under an acclaimed enamelist and painter, Karl Drerup, at Plymouth State University in New Hampshire and then under his encouragement was accepted into the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. More and more she finds herself including architectural elements in her paintings, and she also enjoys creating still-life pieces, occasionally using Asian elements, gathered into her artist's toolbox over the several years she lived there. A favored description of her work is "playful yet precise".
